Here's the truth

That 'ick' you feel really isn't a "you" problem

To be honest, we never got on board with the way marketing was supposed to be done.

Before The Other Way existed, we were just people sitting with the same question, over and over:

why does this still feel so gross, even when you're trying to do good in the world?

It wasn't until we started tracing the colonial roots of the marketing system that we realised that every strategy in the marketing playbook was inherited from propaganda built on domination, exploitation, and control.

No wonder we felt disgusted when we tried to do things "the way" we've been told to.

Now we're here to help you build a business that doesn't require you to exploit your body in the name of success.

We don't just do "marketing". We take the thing that's been making you feel like you're doing business wrong, and reveal it to be the most intelligent thing about you.

What we believe

Around here, we're all about...

Truth

We are not separate. Self and other, individual and collective, human and land. These are not divisions, we are one living system. Conventional marketing is built on separation. Ours isn't.

Embodiment

Your nervous system is not in the way, it's the compass. Nature takes its time, but always gets it done. We build at the pace your nervous system can sustain, we build everything around that signal, not against it. We go deep, and we move at the speed of trust.

Reciprocity

Every message, every offer, every exchange must give more than it takes. Not just to your clients, but to you, your community, and the world your business is quietly building. We measure success not just in revenue, but in relational, creative, cultural, and ecological health.

Integrity

Being out of integrity costs more than any client ever could. We do what we say. And we say what we mean. In our own marketing, our pricing, our relationships, the way we hold power. Without integrity, liberation is just another performance.

Allyship

Allyship is not an identity. It's something you do repeatedly, imperfectly, and in relationship. It involves real risk: social, relational, and economic. It asks us to examine not just what we say, but what our business quietly normalises, rewards, and makes invisible.

Humility

We make mistakes. We get corrected. We stay engaged rather than withdraw. Cultural humility is not a destination, it's an ongoing practice of unlearning, repair, and return. Perfectionism is a colonial mindset. We are still unlearning, and we always will be.

How we got here

Here's the long version of the story...

We were really good at marketing.

That was exactly the problem.

We were copywriters, strategists, ad specialists… First in corporate, but then we went freelance in the hope that working with conscious brands we actually believed in would feel more aligned.

And it did. Until it didn't.

Because on the outside, we were doing the right thing. But on the inside, something still felt off.

We felt it every time we wrote a pain point hook. Every time we added a countdown timer. Every time we watched a client use manufactured urgency to sell liberation.

We kept thinking to ask ourselves:

There must be a better way to do this...

That's when we started finding each other: people who felt the same 'ick' about marketing so we started asking a different question.

Not "how do we market better?" but "why does this feel so gross?"

It seems kind of obvious now when we think about it…

Manufacturing urgency to pressure someone into a decision. Exploiting a wound to make them feel like they need you. Hijacking someone's nervous system and dopamine just to get a sale. Using power dynamics and subtle manipulation to engineer consent.

If a person did those things in a relationship, we'd call it abuse. In marketing, we call it strategy.

The moment it really cracked open for us was simpler than we expected…

We remembered that "good marketing" is really just storytelling.

It's relationship building and skill sharing. And these things are deeply human, ancient things. We've been doing them since forever.

The stories we tell and the relationships we build shape the world we live in. They define our reality.

So then the question became: "what kind of world do we want to live in?"

One with honesty. Consent. Genuine care. Repair. Presence.

That's why we built The Other Way.

Who's actually behind this

Meet The Others

Partners in business, in disruption, and in refusing to do this the old way.

Blossom

Blossom leads strategy, copy, and the client relationships here. She spent about five years as a freelance marketing specialist before co-founding The Other Way, after cutting her teeth writing copy for VITA and Layla Martin, and before that, working inside a London trend-forecasting agency.

Her actual job, underneath the job title: taking the true, complicated thing you're building and finding the words that make it make sense to someone else. Not performing your brand. Clarifying it.

She lives in Bali as a guest, not an owner. Land as teacher, not backdrop.

Dave

Dave Danzeiser

Dave co-founded The Other Way with Blossom and holds the parts of the business most people never see: the systems, the ad management, the content direction, the actual infrastructure a launch stands on.

If Blossom's job is finding the right words, Dave's job is making sure those words reach the right person, and hold up once they do. He builds the pathways, not just the pages.

He's also the reason The Other Way's ideal client got defined properly. Blossom's early read had it aimed at beginners. Dave pushed back: the real client is someone already running a business, already doing the work, who's hit a wall with tactics that were never built for them.

A story from the community

Grounding, compassion, and a kindness I so needed.

My session with Blossom was just what I needed. She asked me all the questions I needed to get more clear on my messaging. We were able to go over some of my own writings and she offered some valuable feedback. I will be implementing her guidance - I am so grateful to have connected with her as she brought grounding, compassion and a kindness I so needed to weave into my business offers going forward. Thank you so much for your beautiful heart, Blossom!

You can count on us to speak honestly. To name what most agencies won't. To work at a pace that honours your capacity. And to build something that still matters in seven generations.

It's time to do this The Other Way.
